I Prefer Navy Blue

Because I'm so pale, and getting paler by the year now that my hair is starting to go quite grey, black makes me look very washed out.  I've always preferred navy blue and these days even more so.  Last year I was looking for a navy blue cardigan and couldn't find one in the usual shops I use (for 'usual shops' read budget priced).  This year there does seem to be more navy blue about and I have seen a nice cardigan I want to buy later this month when my pocket money has accumulated enough.

Here's a top and skirt I've had for a while that I want the navy blue cardigan to go with...
I don't like wearing sleeveless tops but couldn't resist this one, love the style of it.  A nice cardigan will make it more wearable for me.

Fashionable Or Not, Who Cares!!! It's My Style.

I seem to be a bit obsessed with clothes lately.  Not been doing much crafting, can't do any gardening yet so I might as well enjoy my time doing something!

When I do a search for fashion for the older woman I get a bit disappointed that I can't find much on the web.  Then again, we all interpret fashion in different ways.  My style is neat, tidy and suitable for my age.  These ladies dress in a style I would never contemplate and I certainly wouldn't dress like this .

Here are a couple of things I've had for a few years that I like to wear in the summer...

Same tee shirt, different skirt...

Neat and tidy, just ordinary clothes for an ordinary woman.  I couldn't cope with the exhibitionist style.

Are Bed Jackets Just For Old Ladies?

I've never taken to wearing a dressing gown, they are just too uncomfortable and bulky for me.  Bed jackets always seemed to be made of some sort of knitted lace and looked very old fashioned.  This winter I realised I needed something to put on first thing in the morning.  I get up at about 6am and like to come straight downstairs for a cup of tea.  So, I decided a bed jacket would be the perfect answer, not bulky like a dressing gown, made from a fine fleece and looks neat...

Just the thing for wearing before my heating comes on in the morning.

Remember I was starting a facial routine a while ago and I mentioned that now I needed to learn how to apply some makeup that would be more suitable than the old way I'd always done it.  Well, I wanted to know how to use eyeliner that didn't look harsh.  This youtube video has helped me a lot.  I tried it and after a bit of trial and error realised that if I used eye shadow on a brush instead of using a pencil to outline my eyes I got a much softer look.  Also, my eyebrows are almost non existent these days and learnt from another video that if I used eyeshadow on a brush and used that to define my eyebrows it gave a very natural look rather than using an eyebrow pencil.

More Clothes For Spring

I was looking for something a bit brighter than those last two outfits I showed, the grey and the brown.  I had seen some blue canvas trousers that I wanted, it just needed a top to go with them.  The top I bought is very nice but still rather dark I think...

Something a bit more pastel will be next thing I look out for.  The fluffy cardigan I showed a while ago will go nicely with this outfit...

Why am I finding it so difficult to buy paler clothes!!!  It's a habit I must get out of!
