Flower Garden

I made this little embroidery into a needle case, it's stitched onto calico - of course.

Comments

Being new to this blogging lark I've just discovered that the comments was disabled, I think I've fixed this - so feel free to leave a comment.
I couldn't post an entry without showing a picture! This little sewing room is displayed inside a little drawer, sometimes it is on display, sometimes it is tucked away in the wooden unit it fits into.

A 3d Card

The background on this card is vellum, I printed the picture from my card making programme, ran it through my Xyron, then used a 3d press-out rose as the main decoration. I was a bit disappointed that the Xyron glue looked a bit grubby around the edges but when I applied a touch of glitter to the roses I disguised the grubby glue with the glitter and was quite pleased with the result.

Cats

The cat on the left now has a new home, the 'owner' says it reminded him of his cat! He carries this cloth, lavender scented, cat around in his pocket - aahhh!

Bottlecap Pincushions

These tiny bottlecap pincushions are a quick and easy project. I've made at least a dozen, probably more, and given most of them away either as gifts or in swaps. The three shown here are really quick because I've used bought flowers and ribbon as decoration instead of embroidery.

More Beads

I've used another of the metallic stickers here, and red beads in each corner. The card size is 12 cm x 12 cm and the birthday greeting is printed by me.

A Series Developes

This card is very similar to the one I felt was a success yesterday, except this time I used beads instead of brads in the decoration. The picture on it is a foil sticker, it's got a metallic shine to it and is very pretty.

Time for a Card

Last week I bought two paper piercing stencils and one embossing stencil. Yesterday was the first opportunity I'd had to try out these stencils and I couldn't do anything right. So, I tried again today and got on better with the stencils but hated the cards I made, one was very sombre looking because of the colours I'd chosen and the other had a terrible layout even though I liked what I'd used on it. I really wanted to put a card on here today and came up with this one, using none of my new stencils!!! At least it is suitable for public viewing.

Lavender Hangie

Occasionally I enjoy using Aida for either cross-stitch or blackwork. I only stitch small designs because I get bored easily!!! Also, I make too many mistakes with cross-stitch, I probably spend as much time unpicking as I do stitching. This little blackwork design was a perfect size for me to stitch.

Basket of Hearts

Just a small amount of embroidery on calico, which was machine stitched to gingham homespun, made some very pretty hearts. Looking through my stash I came across a few co-ordinating scraps to add more hearts to the basket.

More calico

Most of the things I make are usable. I used to stitch pictures but after a while there seemed no point in stitching a picture then putting it away in a cupboard. So, now I love to make sewing accessories, lavender hangies and sachets and ornaments.

Here's the Calico

A scissor scabbard and keeper made from calico and embroidered using Anchor Perle

What to say???

I had to get in on the act and start a blog - well who doesn't nowadays!!!

I've enjoyed reading so many wonderful blogs and wanted to comment but wasn't allowed so the only way was to have my own.

Having absolutely NO idea what I'm supposed to be doing I won't tell anyone about my blog until I gain a bit of confidence and put some pictures up - I love blogs with pictures.

So - tomorrow will be picture posting day.
